Combing Louisiana’s Bayous and barrooms for acts from R&B’s colorful past, Orlean’s Carlo Ditta presents a sampler of tracks by the likes of Roland Stone and Blu Lu Barker.

Over the last decade and a half, Carlo Ditta’s Crescent City-based Orleans Records has navigated an exceptionally esoteric course. Blues and soul have been Ditta’s focus, but he has taken a side road or two into swamp rock, rockabilly, and jazz. Given the widely varied contents render it fascinating nonetheless.
